About
Laguna Beach, Explained is a side project by Ken Robertson, a Laguna Beach–based real estate advisor with more than 30 years across brokerage, development, investment management and institutional leadership.
It grew out of a simple observation: people care deeply about this town, but it’s often hard to see how it actually works — why one storefront thrives and another sits empty, what a new project will change, or why the same business can succeed in one part of town and struggle in another. The material here comes from conversations with local business owners, public information and firsthand market experience.
Nothing here is a sales pitch. It’s meant to be useful, and to start better conversations.
If you’re wondering about something
People often reach out when they’re thinking through questions like these:
Is this still the right space for my business? Should I renew, relocate or buy?
What is this property worth, and should I hold, improve, refinance or sell?
Should I sell my business and the real estate together, or separately?
How should a property fit into succession or estate planning?
And sometimes: “I have a real estate situation, and I’m not even sure what the question is.” That’s a good conversation too.
